What is involved in a web site project

Many people think that need or would like a web site but are unsure how to tackle the project .  There is more to a web site than you might imagine.

There are 3 things that you need in order for you to have a site on the internet.

1. A domain name.  An address for your web site.
2. A hosting company to store your web site.
3. A designer to take your ideas and create your web site.

When you think about a web site, think information.  Many people use the internet to research and find out about your products or services.  If your office is not open to take calls at 3am when someone in California is on line because they can't sleep, make sure that you have answered most of the important questions for them.

Make it easy to understand and navigate.  Some web sites are complicated and hard to go from one place to another and almost impossible to find your way back!  We like to keep our designs simple so that "normal people" can use them.

What we will need to get started.  If you have sales literature for example brochures, or even some in house "cheat sheets" that you might use daily, then that is a great start for us.  We can look at these and start to form your web site using this information.

A picture or two is always nice to see on a site, especially if it is going to help you get more business!  Pictures can be received by us in a few ways.  Digital pictures can be emailed or sent on disk.  If you don't have a digital camera or don't have a scanner to make hard copy pictures into digital files, we can do that for you.
